A flying taxi is completely new to every user. No habits, no prior knowledge, no point of reference.
The UX design of the app had to make the experience feel so intuitive and natural that visitors at the airshow could navigate it without any explanation.
The key idea: don't show what the flying taxi is. Show what it can do. From A to B across Singapore, fast and effortless, just as it would work in everyday life.
From the product information and conversations with the client, I developed the first structure for the prototype.

I structured the app around three phases that map the complete experience.
Before the flight, the focus was on the flight map. Users selected their route, checked flight times and booked their ticket directly in the app. The map made it immediately tangible how quickly you could get from A to B across Singapore.
During the flight, the focus shifted. Users could learn about safety, discover landmarks they were flying over, get to know the pilot and find out more about the sustainability of the flying taxi.
After landing, sustainability took centre stage again. Alongside a rating of the experience and relevant information about the destination.
In the UI design, I translated Volocopter's brand values into a sleek, intuitive app experience. Flying comes with uncertainty for most people. The design had to build trust without over-explaining.
Every screen contained exactly what the user needed at that moment. Nothing more, nothing less. The flow guided users through the app without detours, as effortlessly as the flying taxi moves through the air.
